Good morning lovelies! I hope your week is on a good start. It’s the Easter week! Are you guys already fully prepared? I haven’t done much to be honest. I took a couple little Easter decors out of my super organized storage (thanks to the KonMari book :D) and that’s about it. Although I probably get a bouquet of tulips before the weekend. Another thing that I haven’t even started planning yet is the Easter weekend menu. And that’s definitely up high on my to do list. Maybe today even. I’m also hoping that the weather would take a turn for better so that we could do a hike or two during the long weekend. It’s been raining sooooo much lately. And not just little rain but pouring almost every day!

Well, the good thing with this soggy weather is that I’ve got so many things done around the house. After the crazy KonMari spring cleaning process I was painting our laundry door this week. Apparently I’m doing laundry so aggressively that our laundry door was full of scratches and black marks! 😀 I gave it a couple of coats of fresh paint and it’s like new again. I’m trying to be careful for now on.

I have some other walls as well that needs to be painted again.. and I’m wondering if I should just do it and get it over with or should I make my husband do it. 😀 hehe. But it usually means that it won’t happen as quickly that I would want. I’m not suggesting that he’s lazy 😀 He’s just so busy with his work that things like these need to be planned in well advance. I could do it .. but you know I kind of want to paint my nails instead 😀

Also, in hopes of warmer days I’ve been updating my closet with some new spring and summer clothes. Last summer I cleaned out my closet so good that I can’t even recall what I wore 😀 Probably nothing… But now I should be well covered.

Here’s an update of what’s been going on 🙂 A little bit of this and that – nothing out of ordinary. Wishing you lovely Monday!

It’s the night of the dear Saviour’s birth. Long lay the world in sin and error pining Till He appeared and the Spirit felt its worth. A thrill of hope the weary world rejoices. For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn. Fall on your knees! Oh, hear the angel voices!  O night divine, the night when Christ was born!

“Truly He taught us to love one another, His law is love and His gospel is peace. Chains He shall break, for the slave is our brother. And in His name al oppression shall cease. Sweet hymns of joy in grateful chorus raise we, with all our hearts we praise His holy name. Christ is the Lord! Then ever, ever praise we, His power and glory ever more proclaim! “

Let us all remember the real reason for the season!

Wishing you and your loved ones

a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year 2017

Rustic Christmas table

posted in: Uncategorized | 0

In Christmas time we have at least a couple of opportunities or if not even more to set our tables nice. First one can be a Christmas party with friends or co workers and then the actual Christmas day dinner with family. My first table setting turned out to be more on the rustic side.

Setting the table for special occasions is one of my favourite things to do. And I love when it just sort of happens without planning too much. Usually how the process goes is that I open my drawers, I find something that I’ve completely forgot about (Like this wooden cutlery set that I got in the summer) and start putting things on the table trying things out a couple of different ways. And sometimes the theme starts to spiral from trying a new napkin folding, like this particular one.

I like to play around with napkins when it comes to setting the table and once again I wanted to try something new this year. There are so many fun options to choose from when you start searching. To me this looked really complicated at first but when I started folding these it was surprisingly simple! I made a little tutorial video for you if you want to try it out. You can make these well beforehand so you don’t have to pull your hair off in the middle of cooking, table setting and everything else you didn’t plan to do 😀

We are getting really close to Christmas Eve right now! Have you tackled your shoppings and meal plans already? I would like to think that we have everything under control. For now at least 😀 I wanna do all the grocery store runs early next week hoping to avoid the big crowds. 🙂

Here’s the napkin tutorial video

Valentine’s Day Gift Ideas

Good Morning! Well morning to me – today I slept in and I’m just about to have my second cup of coffee. x)  It’s the last day of January and it means that Valentine’s day is around the corner! Do you have Valentine’s day traditions? Go out to dinner with friends, receive or give flowers, exchange gifts etc? We have some traditions, most of them are surprises from my husband 😀 but every year is different. Last year we spent our Valentine’s day in the States and it was wonderful. It was the first time we took our puppy with us across the border so it was our first trip outside the country as whole family 😀 Haha. Also they get the spring way earlier than we do. I almost couldn’t believe my eyes how early it starts when you go little further down from Seattle. But this all got me thinking if we would do the same thing this year? Or even just a weekend getaway somewhere here. Hmm.. Anyways. I made a little Valentine’s day gift idea list in case you are planning to get a gift to someone or you need to give a hint to somebody. 😉 I made one for the guys too.
