Wrapping Summer

posted in: Life, Summer | 2

Yup, just like I thought. Summer just might be ancient history. It’s starting to look and feel like it’s time for sweater weather for good! It was raining pretty much the whole weekend and we had a little wind storm here again yesterday. Nothing like it was a couple of weeks ago! But my husband was taking our dog for a walk yesterday and he saw a huge tree falling down in front of him!!! I guess the previous storm did its job and now this tree just needed a little blow to take it down. I’m just so glad my hubby and puppy are safe and sound.

Here I’ve been wrapping up summer in my thoughts. Thinking about it makes me thankful and feeling so blessed. Summer in total was incredible!!! I got to go to Finland and see my family! Paris! I can’t believe I got to see it! Going there has been a dream of mine and it totally blew me away! And these two in the same package deal 😉 And of course so many other things that just make my heart burst! It’s funny when the new year started, a piece of me felt a little sad and It was hard to let go of the past year, especially when it was a good one. But little did I know what was ahead of me! Sooo much has happened, things that I couldn’t even imagine and I’ve changed and learned a lot this year. My eyes have opened wider than ever and I can see things and people in my life, previous and present so clear! I’ve learned to see and recognize things that do not serve me anymore and those that do. Surround yourself with people that inspire and support you, not with those who drag you down with their own drama! It sucks the life out of you! !! Be present in the moment cause that’s really the only thing you have! When I heard (read) that it knocked me over. I don’t have what was and I don’t have something from the future. The only thing that I have is NOW! And I’m trying (still learning) my best to make the most of it! All and all I’m excited to start this fall with a fresh breeze! 🙂 Literally, crisp mornings feel so good after the hottest, driest summer that I’ve ever experienced! 🙂 Summer 2015 it’s a wrap!

Birthday Weekend

posted in: Life, Summer, Traveling | 2

So this day has been very interesting so far. I decided to do a morning yoga instead of my usual morning hike and I don’t know what I did, but somehow I managed to pull a muscle on my back and I had to change all my today’s plans to a long hot bath and back to bed. I can’t pretty much do anything. 😀 Since I can’t do all the things that I planned, I’m putting together the birthday weekend getaway post as I promised.

On my birthday we drove to Oliver which is at the south end of Okanagan Valley here in B.C. Such a gorgeous place with beautiful scenic wineries, apple farms and so much more. Going to Oliver was just what I needed and it made my birthday feel extra special!

On our way there our first must stop was See Ya Later Ranch. For some reason I don’t have any pictures from there!!!! But if you are ever planning to go and do a wine tasting tour – I highly recommend the place! I brought home with me some of their peachy Riesling which was sooo delish! (Sadly it’s all gone now after the Labour Day weekend! hehe..) After wine tasting we had a lunch at their restaurant, did some shopping and then hit the road again.

Our second stop was Burrowing Owl winery which was amazing! It was my first time there and definitely not the last one. I’m not that into red wines but after tasting theirs I might have just changed my mind a bit;)

Our final destination was Hester Creek Winery. Where we also stayed. Their Villa was absolute perfection in every way! Breathtaking views, cozy room and top notch service. Definitely one of the best places where we have stayed.

Happy August!

That’s me in the picture, slowly but surely waking up and realizing that we are halfway through August already! It’s been SO hot in here, especially inside the house so I haven’t had the willpower or desire to do anything around here more than the must to do things. I’m not complaining 😀 but I’m kind of ready for cool nights. I can handle the heat in the daytime but when it’s time to sleep.. not so good! But let me think what’s been happening since the Paris post….  Lots of early and late night walks. Seeing friends, little shopping, good food and work stuff. Nothing crazy, life in general.

Back to that Precious pic – we had a small family photo shoot at my parents’ place. These puppies were out of this world – SO CUTE! And what a perfect timing to go home when there’s was bonus like this waiting 😉 I wanted to pack them all into my suitcase and take them with me! Luckily I’ve been getting updates of them daily since we left and oh boy they are big now! And all over the place 😀

You are probably wondering why I haven’t posted anything from our Finland trip yet. Trip to home was pure family time and I really wanted to be there 100% without any pressure. I don’t have too many pictures that I wanna share since there’s always someone else’s face too :D. haha .. But here’s a few that I put aside.
