Sunday & latest finds

posted in: Living Room, Shopping, Summer | 0

Good (late) Sunday morning! I hope the weekend has been treating you well! I’m finished with my coffee and got kitchen cleaned after our breakfast. Now I’m relaxing on the couch, dog on my lap and I thought that I could make a post about my latest sale finds. Some of them I got a while ago and some are pretty new.

I found a new (better) toy basket for our dog from Home Sense. Our dog likes it so much that she even tried to sleep in it. It’s a bit too small for her to sleep in but she can fit in it if she tries really hard 😀 But I bet it’s not too comfortable 😀

New (grey) pillowcases are from Chapters and they are on pretty good sale right now!

Welcome to our home sign is from Michaels and it was on sale for $4 or so! (if I remember right) I’ve been keeping my eyes open to find a nice hook where I could hang it. But meanwhile it’s hanging off the hallway mirror. I took it upstairs for the pictures because the lighting was so poor.

After I get this thing posted I’m gonna go and do my workout! I sure don’t feel like, but If I do it now, I can chill the rest of the day 🙂

Wishing you a lovely Sunday!

At Home

Hi there! We are back from our Hawaii bound. It was a soft landing to come back home since it’s been very hot here as well. Although yesterday and today have been a little gloomy and I don’t might 🙂 I need a little breather. While we were away calendar has turned its page to June! After two beach vacations + warm and sunny spring we’ve had here it almost feels unreal that the whole summer is still ahead of us.

But yes, we are back home but we haven’t had too much time to mourn after our incredible vacation. We came back to pretty much full schedule. Yesterday I had some time to plan and think what’s next.

As you can see, I’m still enjoying my peonies. They are a bit cheaper now that their season is coming to an end.

I just can’t get enough of them!

I still have to go through our Maui pictures. I have so many – probably too many pictures to choose from. 😀 And when I’m done, of course gotta make a post about it! 🙂 And I’m pretty positive that one post ain’t enough x)

Alright, gonna wrap up for now but I’ll be back with some Maui memories next 🙂

I hope you’ve got a great start for the summer!

Last weekend

Last weekend was, Oh so wonderful! We spent the whole weekend kayaking in a couple different places and I’m not sure if it can get any better than that? I always love to get my lungs full of fresh mountain air. It helps me relax and get rid of stupid thoughts, worries or whatever is bugging me.

I’ve wanted a kayak pretty much from the day I moved here (almost 9 years ago) but we have been postponing to get kayaks because they take a lot of room! Now that we don’t live in the apartment anymore and have had our own garage for almost 3 years we decided to go for it! Why we didn’t buy them right away when we moved to this house – It still felt like they would take over our little garage. Well they sort of do take over 😀 But it’s so worth it!

These pictures are from our Saturday’s kayaking trip. We went to Pitt Lake and from there we did the Widgeon Creek. It’s about an hour of paddling  (depends how many times you stop for taking pictures 😉 ) from the parking lot to this campground where we were supposed to have a little break before heading back. Well there was no stopping this time since this big black bear wouldn’t let us have our snack break there. Not that we would even think about getting out of the kayaks after seeing him. We had to turn back and have lunch at the Starbucks later 😀 haha.   Somehow I thought that now we don’t have to worry about the bears as much when we are hiking. But are you kidding me. First real kayaking trip and guess who’s waiting us in our lunch spot. This bear wasn’t shy at all, which was scary!

I’ve been posting little videos on Snapchat during the weekend and will do so in the future. You’ll be able find me there:  honeyvillah

I feel so blessed and thankful that I can live in such a beautiful place like this! My heart is bursting from the beauty that surrounds us out there. So gorgeous! Can’t wait to get back out there!

My upper body muscles are pretty good with fatigue-resistant, so I thought 😀 I seriously thought that I would be able to paddle longer and harder 😀 But still, it’s a new thing for me and it takes time to get use to! 🙂 But it’s a really good workout for back, chest, abs and arms of course. Last night I noticed that it hurt my abs to laugh or cough 😀 So it’s working!

Happy Tuesday!

Wrapping Summer

posted in: Life, Summer | 2

Yup, just like I thought. Summer just might be ancient history. It’s starting to look and feel like it’s time for sweater weather for good! It was raining pretty much the whole weekend and we had a little wind storm here again yesterday. Nothing like it was a couple of weeks ago! But my husband was taking our dog for a walk yesterday and he saw a huge tree falling down in front of him!!! I guess the previous storm did its job and now this tree just needed a little blow to take it down. I’m just so glad my hubby and puppy are safe and sound.

Here I’ve been wrapping up summer in my thoughts. Thinking about it makes me thankful and feeling so blessed. Summer in total was incredible!!! I got to go to Finland and see my family! Paris! I can’t believe I got to see it! Going there has been a dream of mine and it totally blew me away! And these two in the same package deal 😉 And of course so many other things that just make my heart burst! It’s funny when the new year started, a piece of me felt a little sad and It was hard to let go of the past year, especially when it was a good one. But little did I know what was ahead of me! Sooo much has happened, things that I couldn’t even imagine and I’ve changed and learned a lot this year. My eyes have opened wider than ever and I can see things and people in my life, previous and present so clear! I’ve learned to see and recognize things that do not serve me anymore and those that do. Surround yourself with people that inspire and support you, not with those who drag you down with their own drama! It sucks the life out of you! !! Be present in the moment cause that’s really the only thing you have! When I heard (read) that it knocked me over. I don’t have what was and I don’t have something from the future. The only thing that I have is NOW! And I’m trying (still learning) my best to make the most of it! All and all I’m excited to start this fall with a fresh breeze! 🙂 Literally, crisp mornings feel so good after the hottest, driest summer that I’ve ever experienced! 🙂 Summer 2015 it’s a wrap!

Wishing you a wonderful week!
