This is how our Saturday looked like! After our breakfast we wanted to go and explore new places. For years, we have been driving by this place and never really got in there to see what it has to offer. I’m so glad we decided to go and do this!
The place was spectacular!!!!!
Elk Mountain is in Chilliwack B.C. – a local favourite they say. 😉 Elevation on the top is 1.4km, but the elevation gain during the hike was about 800 meters. For us It took 3h in total to go up, stroll around, take some pictures and come down. Coming down part, for me, was insane! I don’t consider myself to be too much afraid of heights, but this time it brought up every skeleton from the closet that I didn’t even know that existed! We hike a lot and I’ve done some tough hikes before but this time, the coming down part felt really bad. Perhaps I’m just getting old x) But let me tell you, this beats the gym in so many ways!
This little mountain goat has done many crazy hikes with us.. This time we didn’t have to carry her or give her a lift in any situation. We even saw smaller dogs there than ours. So this hike is very dog friendly!
The top part of the hike was very steep and slippery. This wasn’t even the worst part of going down. The camera didn’t really capture the steep hill the way it really looked and felt, to my eyes at least. Going up as hard it was, felt like a piece of cake at this point. I really had to take my time to come down! But the whole trip was so worth it!
Go & Explore!
