Beautiful Unikko

posted in: Bedroom, Spring | 6

Lots of wonderful baggage deliveries lately! I haven’t had a chance to tell you about them yet but last Friday I was holding my breath when I got this beautiful new Marimekko Unikko duvet cover set! I already posted a pic on Instagram and I almost couldn’t wait till the laundry day so that I can change the sheets and try these! 😀 This is absolutely the prettiest Unikko design that I’ve ever seen!

The new duvet cover set made me wanting to change the curtains too (just realized that I didn’t capture those) but you might have noticed that I changed the bedspread? I switched the old one with the guest room’s bedspread just for fun and a change of the scenery.

Closet Extension

… and other random stuff 🙂

This has been a long time coming. I’ve seen so many pretty pics with similar racks (smaller ones though) where these can be nicely styled and be part of a closet – and in my case – bedroom’s decor. 🙂 Those pics got me so inspired and searching until I found this particular rack from Ikea, see it HERE. Other option was this one – click HERE, which was very pretty, but I preferred a rack with wheels so that it would be easier to move if needed. Also this one had the lower shelve which made it even more practical.

This is something that I’ve never had before and probably never thought that I would get and I simply love it! I’ve had so much fun playing with this 😀 I’ve been putting different colour scenes together. Styling it with different purses and old shopping bags! So much fun! But at the same time it’s sort of a closet extension to me! Do you have a similar situation at home? 🙂

I also got some new reading material, “The Body Book. and so far I LOVE this book. I started getting really serious about what I put in and what’s lacking in my body. Last summer I found out that I had an iron deficiency and my hair was literally falling off my head. To me that was so scary and something that I thought that could never happen to me. I’ve never really thought about vitamins and stuff but I guess when getting older, body changes and I have to pay more attention to what it needs. This is a really good guide with lots of good information.  It’s not a weight loss book but great information and a guide book on how to listen to your body more.

On the weekend I did some shopping and I found this lovely spring/summer hat from Aritzia! I usually have hard time finding nice hats and when I do I don’t have to think too long if I should go for it!

The last but not the least. My night stand essentials lately 😀 Eucalyptus and basil, not my first choice but if says that it releases stress, gotta give it a try!

Monday Morning!

posted in: Bedroom, Dining Room | 7

I’ve had such a magical morning today! I can’t quite describe it, but everything has been running smoothly and in order :).  I woke up early feeling rested! (It hasn’t been the case for a long time!) It was so bright and beautiful outside. I felt like walking little extra this morning, and so I did! I also run into two deer on the sidewalk (yes, on the sidewalk, not in the forest :D) We stared at each other few moments and off they went. Views down to the city were foggy but bright, it pretty much felt like I was looking down from an airplane. I hope the rest of the day (why not the whole week) stays on this tune :).

Ok, now to the Master Bedroom’s winter look! I added two normal size pillows to the bed with a throw from the living room sofa. I’ve had a hard time finding big enough throw for this bed, they always come too short. But this one seems to be the right size!

I’m still hoping to find a way to lower this bed at least a hint. It’s a bit too high! Nightstands are too low and hard to reach x) and because the mattress doesn’t go under the bed frame, the sheets keep rolling off, which is pretty annoying most of the time. I hope I find a solution. I also took the big white rug out since, you know, our dog thinks that it’s her second bed so it got dirty pretty fast. Instead, I placed these old faux sheep skins from Ikea. They are easy to throw to the washer if needed!

The only new comer in this room is this tray! I’ve been wanting to get a tray like this for a quite some time now and I was so happy to find one from Target for $7! For other trays like this, what I’ve been looking for, the price range has been between $30-$50.. This tray feels really good, I mean it is “heavy” and very solid.

Guest Room in White

posted in: Bedroom, Decor, Guest Room | 2

Our guest room has its white winter look now! The only thing that it’s missing here is the Christmas lights. Remember my “off to Mexico” post where I was so sure that I was going to be starting my decorations early this year? Well, I wasn’t going to do it NOW or next week or so! But you know, here and there little by little. But guess what (I don’t know who came up with this stupid rule) but our strata won’t be allowing any Christmas decor that is visible to the outside, which means hanging exterior or window lights until December 1st. C’mon! Really! Well I guess I can still hang whatever indoors, if I just keep my curtains closed. 😀 I like the rule that they can’t stay up until Easter, but really, not earlier than December..

Anyways, back to the guest room. I only changed the duvet covers to white and added another set of curtains to windows to make them look fuller. That other set of curtains were in the master bedroom last summer. Now I changed my grey curtains back to the master bedroom.
